         International Textile Equipment &
         Materials 2022 Exhibition in Vietnam

         The International Exhibition of Textile & Garment Industry -
         Equipment & Materials 2022 was held from Novem 23-25
         in Hanoi.

         Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguy-
         en Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized that the Ministry of Industry
         and Trade always considers the textile and garment indus-
         try an important industry that not only brings in the third
         largest export turnover of the country but also contributes
         to stabilizing social security. Vietnam's textile and garment
         industry currently employs 2.5 million workers, exports more
         than 40 billion USD/yr, the average income of workers is

         “Although the export turnover is high, the added value of
         the industry is low, the source of raw materials is not ac-
         tive, and the labor productivity is lower than other coun-
         tries in the region and only at a good average level. There-
         fore, in the coming time, the industry needs to develop in
         depth, join the global supply chain, focus on high-value
         stages such as product design, step by step rise to a high-
         er level in the supply chain, globally," said the Deputy Min-
         ister.
         Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat
         Tan said: “The organization of the International Exhibition
         of Textile & Garment Industry - Equipment & Raw Materi-
         als 2022 creates favorable conditions for domestic and for-
         eign textile enterprises to meet, promote brands, open

         with major partners around the world,” said Deputy Minister
         Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan .
