Textile Minister Anand Sharma launches new logo & stores of NTC

Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textiles Anand Sharma recently unveiled a new corporate logo reflecting the new face of the State-owned National Textile Corporation (NTC) and two new look retail stores as part of the plans to make it a world-class textile company.

“Government is committed to make National Textile Corporation (NTC), a world-class eco-friendly integrated textile company and flag bearer of the sector. Ongoing revival-cum-modernization steps and new corporate and brand identity launch by the NTC aimed at this goal,” said Sharma, speaking at a glittering function held in New Delhi on December 23, 2011.

“The NTC is a key player in the textile sector and its recent moves will definitely transform it into an integrated company capable of addressing the clothing needs of the nation.The NTC has made a turn-around within a short span to emerge as a debt-free company with a highly competitive revival strategy. The government and private sectors should work closely in the country’s interest,” the Minister added.

Anand Sharma also launched two new look retail stores of NTC, one in New Delhi and another in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu via satellite link up. This is part of revamping of NTC‘s 93 stores to reflect new face of NTC across the country. The Two newly revamped showrooms were showcased to the assembled guests and media members during the launch event.

“Union Government has launched a number of schemes such as Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) and various measures for the Powerloom, Handloom, Handicrafts, Silk and Wool sectors for the overall development of the textile sector and welfare of the weavers and artisans. The revamp and modernisation steps taken by NTC in the recent past in view of the changing times and consumer aspirations of modern India will help instilling confidence in the minds of all stakeholders,” said Rita Menon, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, speaking on the occasion.

“The new corporate logo of NTC reflects the new face of NTC to the world. It has been designed as free flowing fabrics that makes the logo. It is in league with the new aspirations and above all it reflects the changing aspirations of India. Apart from rebranding, NTC has also developed a new marketing and corporate strategy that includes revamping of all NTC stores across the country and setting up new stores,” said K. Ramacha-ndran Pillai, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NTC, while speaking on the occasion.

“The internal marketing programme to employees and key customers includes undertaking a complete programme to bring the new vision and culture to its employees. Respective mill managers would be conducting a smaller unveiling ceremony of the new logo along with the NTC anthem at all the mills. Apart from this, all employees would be given a small commemorative badge of the new Logo. A poster campaign is being envisaged to bring the employees closer to the new face of NTC,” added Pillai.
