Boyish Jeans launches retraced’s transparency technology to highlight their honest sustainability efforts and achievements
Boyish Jeans (“Boyish”) has launched the Retraced GmbH (“retraced”) transparency widget onto their online store. The eCommerce plugin enables Boyish to communicate the sustainable supply chains behind their products and showcase the brands’ social responsibility efforts.
Boyish joined the retraced transparency platform in March 2020. Since then, the brand has worked diligently with the tool to onboard and connect their selected network of sustainable supply chain partners, such as Bossa Mills, Strom Denim, and Lenzing AG. This included onboarding the respective suppliers into the system, collecting information on their ethical production methods and standards, and verifying their certifications and claims.
As a result, the brand was able to obtain eight badges with regards to transparency, fairness, and environmental sustainability. Visitors on Boyish’s website can now click on the retraced plugin and learn more about the product’s journey, the production processes, and the environmental implications. The project has allowed Boyish to further amplify their ongoing efforts to share honest insights about their products’ value chains with their customers. Jordan Nodarse, Founder and Creative Director of Boyish, is enthusiastic about the ongoing progress and is encouraged by the implications this could have for customers, and the industry at large:
As a sustainable brand who is already completely transparent, we realized that we could be even more transparent about our supply chain specifically. Incorporating Retraced’s technology into our website will provide those key details and will arm our customers with even more information about the purchase decision they have made. We hope more brands join Retraced in this effort to shed light on the impact of fashion.
For the LA-based brand, the retraced launch is just another key milestone on their sustainability journey. Since its foundation in 2018, Boyish has committed to making planet and people-friendly women’s denim and sharing the process along the way. The brand aims to have its entire supply chain mapped and communicated by the end of 2020.
Supply Chain Tracing Tool: The first step in managing your sustainability is mapping it. Retraced offers an easy-to-use business app which allows a brand to draw all their supply chains, name all relevant participants, and trace their products. With retraced’s advanced blockchain solution, one can efficiently collect detailed supply chain data – even down to the origin of the product’s raw materials.
