Burberry celebrates the Year of the Snake

London – In honor of the Year of the Snake, Burberry introduces an exclusive capsule collection and an inspiring collaboration with renowned Chinese bamboo-weaving artist, Qian Lihuai. The launch celebrates the rich traditions of Chinese culture with modern sophistication, blending heritage with contemporary artistry.

Grounded in vibrant red, a symbol of luck and prosperity in Chinese culture, the capsule collection features a seasonal reinterpretation of the iconic Burberry Check and a specially designed snake motif. The collection offers a range of stylish wardrobe essentials, including outerwear, trench dresses, and jersey separates, alongside miniature designs like puffer jackets and checked scarves for younger wearers. Gift-worthy accessories, including luxurious silk and cashmere scarves, leather wallets, hats, and bag charms, further elevate the collection.

To amplify the celebratory spirit, Burberry has partnered with Qian Lihuai, one of China’s most influential bamboo-weaving artists, for an exclusive campaign and art installation. Drawing from Burberry’s heritage of craftsmanship, Qian has created a stunning series of nine bamboo sculptures, titled “Us.” These handwoven, serpentine sculptures symbolize family unity, connection, and individuality, embodying the themes of love and care central to the Year of the Snake.

The collaboration shines through a campaign led by Burberry Brand Ambassador and actor Zhang Jingyi, with striking visuals by renowned photographer Walter Pfeiffer. Qian’s bamboo creations take center stage in flagship store windows across China, adding an artful narrative to the brand’s festive offerings. The installations’ abstract yet interwoven forms celebrate the unbreakable bonds that define family relationships.

“I’ve always been drawn to Burberry’s signature patterns,” says Qian Lihuai. “The textures and colors have a remarkable connection to the intricate designs of bamboo weaving. This collaboration felt like a natural harmony.”

Zhang Jingyi adds, “The Year of the Snake is a time of renewal and togetherness. Collaborating with Burberry, Mr. Walter Pfeiffer, and the artistry of Qian Lihuai was a true joy and gave me a sense of festive warmth and connection.”
