Sheikh Hasina is to inaugurate the weeklong event starting on Nov 12
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), in partnership with Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE), is organizing “Made in Bangladesh Week” from 12th to 18th November this year.
The week-long initiative will present physical events comprising summits, expositions, exhibitions, awards, factory tours, cultural shows and networking dinner.
Bangladesh is the world’s 2nd largest apparel exporting country. The country exports ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel to over 160 countries in the world.
‘Made in Bangladesh Week’ is a signature event of Bangladesh which aims to bring under one roof all the stakeholders of Bangladesh apparel industry to initiate collaborations as well as discuss prospects and roadmap for the future. In addition, the event will work towards a collective promise of promoting sustainability and responsible business.

The apparel industry of Bangladesh is at the dawn of a new era in its development. Exceptional safety standards have been adopted, and great strides have been taken to meet environmental and sustainable targets. With these principles in mind, there is a strong will to keep the industry growing. The Summit will hold a forum allowing visionary views of the future to be expressed and discussed.
A broad spectrum of proposals for improving environmental and sustainable credentials will be made, bringing to various light methods to achieve these goals. The Summit will hold interactive panel sessions and keynotes, offering a more open, interactive environment and allowing full audience participation and the opportunity for a valid exchange of ideas.

Bangladesh Denim Expo is a must-attend show in the international denim calendar. Bangladesh Apparel Exchange will organize the 13th edition of the expo during Made in Bangladesh Week.
The exhibition is a new comprehensive showcase of the entire denim value chain: fabric, finishes, washes, and accessories. The trade show celebrates and explores the world of denim. It’s an exclusive event only for authorized trade visitors.

The Sustainability Leadership (TSL) Award will recognize the best practices of Bangladesh apparel factories in environmental, social, and innovation areas. The objective is to motivate factories to adopt sustainable practices to transform the image of Made in Bangladesh in the world market as modern, safe, and green. The award is divided into 3 categories: Social Excellence, Environmental Excellence, and Innovation Excellence. At the same time, these recognitions will inspire factories to follow best practices and brand the sustainability strides of Bangladesh’s apparel industry globally.
About The Competition
The Sustainable Design & Innovation Award aims to offer a platform for talented young professionals and students to find creative and innovative sustainable design process innovations in the country through a rigorous selection process.
An esteemed jury board will evaluate the selection process in terms of innovation and elaboration, functionality, aesthetics, and responsibility. The award will encourage multi-disciplinary approaches to design, advance diversity, and more environmentally sustainable solutions.
