AEI TÈXTILS kick off two new European Projects funded under the Eurocluster initiative: xBUILD-EU – Cross-fertilization of industrial ecosystems in textile manufacturing and construction leveraging digital and advanced technologies to build up green and digital resilience in Europe – coordinated by AEI Tèxtils, and EuroBoosTEX – Joint European Initiative in Textile Industry for Europe’s recovery boosting digital and green transition –where AEI Tèxtils has a partner role. The two projects are part of the 30 newly selected Euroclusters funded under the Joint Cluster Initiatives from the European Commission.
Both projects aim to facilitate networking opportunities to improve the resilience of the EU’s industrial textile ecosystem by strengthening relationships between clusters, foster the innovation capacities of the textile industry, facilitate the adoption of processes and technologies to reinforce the transformation towards a greener and more digital economy, promote the updating and retraining of workers in the textile industry and, finally, promote internationalization by facilitating access to global value chains.
Each Eurocluster project will implement the “cascade financing” system to support textile SMEs in innovation, the adoption of green and digital solutions and internationalization, in an easy and agile way. The first calls are expected to be launched in May-June 2023. Other results of the two projects will be the development of a series of activities to promote resilience, such as market studies, thematic webinars or interactive workshops with partners of the AEI Tèxtils.
During the kick-off meetings, the partners of both projects have had the opportunity to present their organizations and their role in the project, talk about the results and the calendar and action planning for the coming months.
In the next three years, AEI Tèxtils, through these projects, will strengthen its portfolio of strategic services to support resilience in the Catalan textile materials sector and will create new alliances, both at regional and European level.
The two projects are fully aligned with the axes of the new cluster strategy and with its four main pillars: innovation, skills, internationalization and business development, as well as the transversal axes of digitization and sustainability thanks to the wide variety of activities that are carried out. They are gonna do it.
AEI Tèxtils considers this key project to build resilience in the sector and expand its capacity for innovation. The clusters act as an axis and as a collaborative environment to facilitate cooperation between companies, research centers, legislators and other institutions that promote innovation and provide SMEs with access to new skills, resources and markets.
xBUILD-EU and EuroBoosTEX are part of the six strategic projects that have been approved in the cluster this year to support the competitiveness of its partners, after the launch of ADDTEX and Hi-Tech-TEX . Other projects that are currently in the process of preparation will be presented in the coming months.
