The call of VITAS and LEFASO for vaccines for Textile, Garment, and Footwear Enterprises to preserve the supply chain has been positively responded by AAFA (American Apparel and Footwear Association) and brands.
On the morning of July 28, 2021, two official letters of appeal from AAFA to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Biden were published. AAFA has informed Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc to have a voice forward to the government, with content related to the growing COVID crisis in Vietnam and its impact on workers in the textile industry – footwear and throughout the South.Besides, AAFA is also talking directly with USG asking them to sponsor more vaccines and other COVID supplies (PPE, testing) for Vietnam. Supported vaccines will go directly to workers and employees. textiles and footwear, thus preserving production, supply chain, and social security.
